Southern Forest World is best known as home to Stuckie (also known as George), a dog trapped inside a hollow tree while chasing an animal and mummified by loggers in 1980. Laura Walker State Park
Laura Walker State Park is a popular spot for fishing and watersports during the summer, while camping is popular year-round. The 120-acre lake provides a great place to relax or go boating, and there are picnic areas and group shelters for large family outings. The park’s newest addition is the Lakes at Laura Walker 18-Hole Golf Course, which includes its own Pro Shop and beautiful landscaping created by removing dirt to make three lakes on the course. Obediah’s Okefenok
Obediah’s 1800s homestead has been restored and turned into a park for visitors to enjoy. The park features a boardwalk, nature trails, and several buildings and museums. Wildlife observation areas also allow viewing of over 100 different animals native to Okefenokee.
Historic Downtown Waycross
